Let's get started! ## Recipe for Gulab Jamun With Ice Cream ### Ingredients - 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour - 2 tablespoons clarified butter (ghee) - 1/4 teaspoon baking soda - 3 tablespoons milk powder - 2 tablespoons heavy cream - pinch of salt - 1 tablespoon sugar - 1/4 cup warm milk - vegetable oil for deep-frying - 2 cups vanilla ice cream - 1/2 cup sugar - 1/2 cup water - 2 tablespoons rosewater ### Instructions **Making the Dough** 1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, milk powder, clarified butter and a pinch of salt. 2. Slowly add the heavy cream and warm milk, and then knead the dough until it is soft and pliable. 3. Cover the dough and set aside for at least 10 minutes. **Making the Gulab Jamuns** 1. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep-frying pan over medium-high heat. 2. Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. 3. Carefully drop the balls into the hot oil and fry until golden-brown. 4. Remove the gulab jamuns from the pan and set aside to cool. **Making the Syrup** 1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, water and rosewater and bring to a boil. 2. Reduce the heat and simmer until the syrup thickens slightly, about 5 minutes. 3. Remove the syrup from the heat and set aside to cool. **Assembling the Gulab Jamun With Ice Cream** 1. Place the gulab jamuns in a bowl and pour the cooled syrup over top. 2. Place the bowl in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow the gulab jamuns to absorb the syrup. 3. When ready to serve, scoop the ice cream into individual bowls and top with the gulab jamuns and syrup. Enjoy!
