Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add San Giorgio lasagna noodles and boil for 8-10 minutes or until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, bell pepper, and garlic over medium-high heat, breaking up the beef as it cooks. When the beef is browned and cooked through, drain off any fat.
- Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper to the beef. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Spread a small amount of the beef mixture in the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish. Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the beef. Spread a third of the remaining beef mixture over the noodles. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese and 2 tablespoons of the Parmesan cheese. Repeat the layering two more times, ending with a layer of noodles.
- Spread the remaining beef mixture over the noodles and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let the lasagna cool for 15 minutes before serving.
